By Design Sealants Ltd are Specialist Applicators of K-Grip.
The Disability Discrimination Act came into force in
January 2004 recommending that all steps have contrasting nosing
to aid the visually impaired. This made K-Grip
is more important than ever.
Building regulations: Section M2, 1.21-1.24
states, “The existence of individual steps, on there own or within
a flight should be made apparent” and “permanent
contrast incorporated into treads”.
K-Grip
will not only comply with anti-slip requirements, but with a range of
12 standard and metallic colours, including luminous (Custom colours made
to order), can enable you to achieve a dual purpose with one simple application.
K-Grip
is extremely hard wearing, UV stable and is easy and cost effective to
apply, to both new and existing surfaces. It can also be used for directional
arrows, company logos and signage etc.
K-Grip
can be applied to almost any sound surface (Stone, concrete, tiles, metal,
wood, glass, GRP, etc) externally or internally, and its rapid curing
ensures that downtime can be kept to a minimum.
Also within the K-Grip
range we have products such as K-Stud
and K-Trim.
K-Studs
are metal studs that can have any coloured K-Grip
applied within them. The K-Stud
can be applied to paving and tops of walls etc to form a tactile surface.
These studs are not only tactile but also anti-slip. They can be applied
easily and quickly without having to lift paving etc. K-Trim
is a black neoprene rubber strip that has K-Grip
applied to the top surface (Any colour can be applied
to the neoprene), b has been designed for large areas were tactile strips
are required, for example tops of staircases and steps internally and
externally.
