Princess Diana's Memorial

The Princess Diana Memorial is to be found in London's Hyde Park opened on the 6th July 2004 by her majesty the Queen.

By Design were proud to use their expertise in this wonderful tribute.

Otto Chemie products were used for expansion joints to the main fountain, these products had to be used to guarantee no migratory staining to the marble surrounds. It was also imperative to find a product that had a good colour range and can be used in permanently wet conditions.

Swiss Re (aka The London Gherkin!):

This is one of the most unusually designed buildings in the London sky line, this building can be seen for miles. Head office for insurance brokers Swiss Re.

K-Grip was applied to every staircase landing in this building on two staircase's, operatives had to work long hours to make sure that the K-Grip would cure before the huge work force returned to site.

Otto Chemie products were also applied by our application division throughout this building.

The Greater London Authority:

The GLA building is the head office for the mayor of London and is based on the river Thames directly opposite the Tower of London.

On this contract a number of our services were used. The external steps leading down to the GLA cafe had black K-Grip applied this to highlight the step nosings and help with anti slip.

Internally our Sealant Application side of the business applied various products including Otto Chemie products to floor joints, sanitary ware etc.

Flagship Benetton Store:

This store is to be found on Kensington High Street in the city of London.

Stainless steel internal staircases were constructed for public access to all levels of the store K-Grip was applied to each star tread in squares to form a anti slip and visual affect.

Aqua Vale:

Aqua Vale pool is based in Aylesbury and was built by Willmott Dixon.

Following the opening of this pool it was found that steps within the swimming pool area were slippery and that K-Grip was needed to help prevent swimmers from slipping.

Our under water maintenance team who are fully qualified divers under the HSE also carried out remedial works to the main pools following the pool hand over.

This work caused the builder a problem, as the pools would have normally been drained down to carry out these works, we were able to save them money and achieve there hand over by carrying out the works under water.
